SOE would probably have to put in some type of item level system for gear for this to work to ensure gear stats were measured in some way. Your character is rated on its gear and must qualify for certain instances to prevent under gearing, and you can not trade money or items between servers unless it dropped in that instance, none of these restrictions are in place if you are grouping on your own server, these were only for cross server groups).
I would love a dungeon queue approach, as long as its implemented with a little bit of understanding of reality of MMOs today - not everyone is going to try and play well.Īll of that is handled pretty well in the "other games' that have it. And its painful to do instances that have no chance because you have too many poor players (whether skill, distraction, gear, whatever). While that works (sort of) for BGs, it means you never know what you end up with, because you don't know any of the people. I also prefer that if something like this is implemented, that it be server based and not cross server.
I am just saying that with a queue approach, you get a random person, and sometimes its someone you really want nothing to do with. Now, that's his chosen playstyle, but that doesn't mean I want him in my groups.
What do you do when you end up with that deadbeat in your group for the 8th time? There's a guy that does a lot of BGs on my server, but all he does (i'm not joking) is wait for his team mates to die and then spends the whole BG dry humping their corpses.
